NYISO (New York) 5 Min. Real Time Market Ancillary Services Prices
Ancillary services are necessary to support the transmission of capacity and energy from resources to loads, while maintaining reliable operation of the NYS Transmission System in accordance with Good Utility Practice. The markets for ancillary services resulting from the operation of the Real-time Commitment (RTC) and the Real-time Dispatch (RTD).
Ancillary services, such as operating reserves and frequency response, are necessary tools used by grid operators to ensure reliability and stability of the power system in the short-term. Power grids are evolving around the world as traditional retirement generation rises and renewable energy. So far, though, it has not been difficult to maintain short-term performance. In power systems where renewables make up a much larger proportion of the generation supply, some operational changes and additions to ancillary services are likely to be made.
This data product offers five-minute interval prices for all zones (Zonal) in NYISO. For each zone, you will find 10 Min Spinning Reserve, 10 Min Non-Synchronous Reserve, 30 Min Operating Reserve, NYCA Regulation Capacity in $/MWh and NYCA Regulation Movement in $/MW.

10-Minutes Spinning Reserve (ten_min_spinning_reserve)
Operating Reserves provided by Generators and Demand Side Resources that meet the eligibility criteria set forth in Rate Schedule 4 of this ISO Services Tariff that are already synchronized to the NYS Power System and can respond to instructions to change their output level, or reduce their Energy usage, within ten (10) minutes.
30-Minute Reserve (thirty_min_spinning_reserve)
Synchronized Operating Reserves provided by Generators and Demand Side Resources that are not Local Generators; or non-synchronized Operating Reserves provided by Generators or Demand Side Resources that meet the eligibility criteria set forth in Rate Schedule 4 of this ISO Services Tariff and that can respond to instructions to change their output level within thirty (30) minutes, including starting and synchronizing to the NYS Power System.
NYCA Regulation Capacity (nyca_regulation_capacity)
New York Control Area (NYCA) Regulation Capacity is the Energy or Demand Reduction capability, measured in MW, that a Regulation Service provider offers and/or which it is scheduled to provide for Regulation Service
10-Minute Non-Synchronized Reserve (ten_min_non_sync_reserve)
Operating Reserve provided by Generators, or Demand Side Resources, including Demand Side Resources using Local Generators, that meet the eligibility criteria set forth in Rate Schedule 4 of this ISO Services Tariff and that can be started, synchronized and can change their output level within ten (10) minutes
