NYISO (New York) Hourly Day Ahead Market Ancillary Service Prices
Ancillary services that are necessary to support the transmission of Capacity and Energy from resources to Loads while maintaining reliable operation of the NYS Transmission System in accordance with Good Utility Practice. In Day-ahead Market (DAM) these Ancillary Services are scheduled and sold Day-Ahead consisting of the Day-Ahead scheduling process, price calculations and Settlements.
Ancillary services, such as operating reserves and frequency response, are necessary tools used by grid operators to ensure reliability and stability of the power system in the short term. Power grids are evolving around the world as traditional retirement generation rises and renewable energy. So far, though, it has not been difficult to maintain short-term performance. In power systems where renewables make up a much larger proportion of the generation supply, some operational changes and additions to ancillary services are likely to be made.
This data product offers hourly ancillary services prices for all zones (Zonal) in NYISO. For each zone, you will find 10 Min Spinning Reserve, 10 Min Non-Synchronous Reserve, 30 Min Operating Reserve, NYCA Regulation Capacity in $/MWh.
